The plant has exceptionally deep roots that Penetrate 15 to 25 feet underground This draws up minerals that are unreached by most African crops—turning untouched soil into a source of natural micronutrients.


Alfalfa thrives in poor soil It grows well in harsh or underused land, making it ideal for sub-Saharan Africa. And it has long-lasting yields, being productive for 3–5 years, with some varieties lasting up to 20 years.
