MISSION 2: MIDDLE SCHOOL CONSTRUCTION, UGANDA
The Magale Orphanage Center in Mbale, Uganda is operated by a Christian organization called the “Fountain Living Water Fellowship Mission.” Their school serves more than 80 orphans, but the currently are limited to providing only elementary education. Many of the local children have aged out of that facility, and are now pre-teens and teenagers with no school to attend.
World Hunger Team has taken on the mission of funding construction of a new Middle School, but our resources are limited. A local farmer has donated the land for the school and we have funded construction of the facility to about the 1/3 completion phase. We need additional resources to complete the construction of the building, and we are asking for your help.
All of the preparation work has been completed by our friend Mukanga Kefa, director of the school. He has already arranged for local teachers to teach the classes, the curriculum has been approved by the proper authorities, and all permits have been received. However, construction of the building has stopped due to lack of funding.
Money goes very far in Uganda compared to the United States. And to stretch their budget, the school organizers are using local craftsmen and volunteers to implement the construction. We believe that the building can be completed with just $10,000 U.S. in funding. So to reach our goal, we are seeking 1,000 sponsors to donate $10 each to get the school construction over the finish line in time for this fall’s semester.
By helping us with a one-time small donation of $10, you can help educate the area’s pre-teen and teenage children and put them on a path to success as young adults.
To help celebrate your victory in educating these grateful children, every sponsor will be invited to supply a face photo which will be included in a permanent display in the school lobby. Plus, we will supply a ‘Certificate of Support’ that you can print and frame for your home. The children are also very eager to share their stories and provide updates on their education and personal growth. As such, World Hunger Team will provide regular email newsletters to all sponsors in the weeks and years ahead. We encourage you to show your support of childhood education in Africa, and to make a difference in the lives of these eager, attentive and hard-working children.

A master builder was brought in on the project to assure that the building will last for many, many years. Funds are needed to complete the brickwork, add windows and doors, as well as roof beams and roofing.
